Dreaming of Fiji's beautiful tropical islands but not sure where to start?

Here's how to plan and book your own affordable island holiday, from finding cheap flights to choosing accommodation and saving money on ferry tickets.

Step 1: Find Cheap Flights to Fiji

Sign up for the Fiji Airways newsletter to hear about flight sales. Use Skyscanner to compare prices across different dates, especially if you can be flexible with when you travel.

Step 2: Find Affordable Island Accommodation

Browse Booking.com and Agoda to compare budget resorts, beachfront bures and local homestays in the Yasawa Islands. Don't assume the cheapest room is always the cheapest option overall.

Step 3: Check Compulsory Meal Packages

This is a big one! Many island resorts and homestays have compulsory meal packages that can add a significant amount to your holiday. Always compare the total cost of accommodation and meals before booking. Sometimes a slightly more expensive resort can actually work out cheaper overall.

Step 4: Compare Ferry Tickets and the Bula Pass

If you're visiting just one or two islands, individual Yasawa Flyer tickets may work out cheaper. If you're planning to visit several islands, compare the cost of individual tickets with the Bula Pass to see which offers better value.

The Yasawa Flyer departs from Port Denarau, so remember to factor in the transfer from Nadi Airport when planning your trip.

Step 5: Book Your Fiji Island Adventure!

Once you've compared accommodation, meal packages and ferry costs, make sure everything lines up before booking.

Double-check ferry schedules, accommodation availability and transfers before making any non-refundable bookings.

Then it's time to get excited about beautiful beaches, incredible snorkelling and island adventures!

And don't forget travel insurance! Make sure you're covered for your island adventures, including snorkelling and boat transfers.
